Who we are, is who you are, is who they are.
“Fade the Lines” ™ is a non-profit organization dedicated to achieving intercultural and interfaith peace through visualized poetry and spoken word among children and adults of diversity. Fading the lines is inspired by current world events that impact our children, and hence the future of humankind. We are dedicated to showing our children that the differences between human beings are not impenetrable barriers requiring defense but blessed opportunities to evolve together. We are fading the lines that impede communication, movement, exploration, and therefore allow assimilation of values by leveraging our creative similarities.
We are fading the lines to unite lives in the balance.
Mission Statement
“Fade the Lines” ™ fosters global peace through visualized poetry and spoken word by fading the perception of physical and spiritual barriers between children of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Our programs work with schools and other learning centers to bring together written and visual modes of artistry as a form of facilitated communication between children who are otherwise disconnected. It is an attractive way to exchange and share in each others viewpoints and creative processes. We ultimately render visualized poetry through spoken word and literary anthologies. In essence, Fade the Lines is an online ambassador to interactively exchange messages of hope and encouragement.
Objectives
- Fade the Lines hosts intercultural, interfaith exchange and cross-fertilization of human ideals. We use the power of creative writing poetry and visual art to dispel the illusion that diversity leads to disconnection.
- Connect through creative communication embodied within poetry, prose, stories, and blogs, and related visual art, such as drawing, photography, painting, and illustration.
- We will deliver understanding and relief to the frayed edges of our coexistence through the communication mediums of internet and wireless facilitated social networks, face-to-face gatherings, and books.
- We will broadcast Fade the Lines to schools, learning centers, along those frontiers of those in need of encouragement…everywhere, all people, all ages, and of all status.
Our Composition
Contributors and constituency of Fade the Lines include children and adults of diverse faiths, nationalities, race, occupations, and ideology; united by open hearts, filled with love. Children and adults alike, assist each other to share their lives and values across physical, cultural, and spiritual barriers.
Values
We are mindful of both the vulnerability and strength of our children as they navigate the morass of public sentiment, social media, and observe the attitudes of parents and adults. Through it all, we value the gift of laughter, art appreciation, and the simple aesthetics of nature and “being” that help fade the lines of distinction.
Our differences do not divide our shared humanity but create a richness that can be celebrated through broad audience story telling, works of art, creative writing and deep dialogue and listening.
